Republic Parking has provided parking services in Maui since 1991. We manage over 11 locations across the island. Our facilities range in shape and size, from small surface lots to valet service at Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Name: Johanna van Gelder

Title: General Manager of Maui and Hawaii Island
Description: Johanna van Gelder joined the Republic Parking team (now REEF) in 2014, beginning her career in parking as an Administrative Assistant. Through this role, Johanna gained exposure to many areas of parking management in Maui, giving her a strong experiential foundation on which to grow into a local expert in parking operations in Maui.
Johanna has an exceptional knowledge of the local parking market, as well as a thorough understanding of accounting controls and operations management. In October 2019, Johanna was promoted to Manager, overseeing our Maui parking operations. Since taking this role, Johanna has made essential contributions to the parking operations on the island, including managing the start-up of the reservations system and entrance Parking Ambassador program at Wai’anapanapa State Park. Prior to joining REEF, Johanna has an extensive background working in telecommunications.
In this role, she developed a strong sense of customer service and expertise in technological systems. These skills have made Johanna an essential member of the Maui parking operations team and support her in her continuous pursuit to improve the customer experience. Johanna is also proud to serve her local community; she is currently a Trustee on Lahaina Arts Society Board and has served as Director on Lahaina Arts Guild Board.
